I went fishin for catfish today for the very first time! i didnt catch anythinng but still had fun!! but one problem was when i casted my bait kept flying off! i was using pre-formed dough balls in a bag from walmart! I was using a circle hook, is that a problem? what should i do?

When casting punch, or dough bait lob it out don't sling that rod too hard, liten up on the brake and control with your thumb if not, it will throw the bait off. But yes , cut bait and treble hooks is the way to go.

Also, get some bait that ISN'T that dough ball stuff. The only thing I've ever caught with that stuff is a case of smelly fingers. Get some good punchbait, some treble hooks, and you'll be good to go.
