I run a 798 Bird with DI/SI on my yak. I bought a 12v-15amp closed cell battery for a wheelchair I think off ebay for about $45 and it powers it for several trips.

How did you mount your transducer?

I made my own interpretation of the "liberator" mount with a swinging arm that deploys it over the side.

I mounted a Ram ball mount so I could swivel it for use or transport. I made an aluminum extender that gets it just under the surface. Not very elegant, but works great.
