On the road to Missouri and all I can think about is getting home to catch crappie!!!!! Havn't even made Oklahoma yet! Lol anyway got me curious....thought I'd start a little interesting conversation....what is your absolute favorite jig!? A buddy has turned me on to Bobby Garlands baby shad/slab slayers and I can't believe the results! Standing shoulder to shoulder he out fished my feathered jigs...(maybe just my presentation) so I put one on and bam! So easy an idiot can fish'em! Lol what's your favorites and why?

Over the past year I can honestly say that the Slab Bandit in Texas Toast has produced more fish than anything else, with the SB in Pearl Truse a close 2nd and the SB in Blue/Chartreuse a close 3rd. I guess that means plastic is my "Go To" bait. That's not to say that my clay83 hand tied's and the SmS "Pepop" haven't put numerous good fish in the box. My 2cents

Just checked out that slab bandit....looks similar to BG's baby shad but a little "thicker". Read about it and it says toughest plastic out there...are they pretty durable in your opinion? Havn't had any complaints about the BG's but after 10-15 fish just depending, it gets a little wear....what's the price like? I get the BG's at Olsens for $2.86 (12 pack)...

Rowdy, if I remember correctly, during "trials" Chuck Rollins caught over 100 fish with a single Slab Bandit. I personally have boated 36 with the same bait before a hybrid grabbed it & tore it up. They're the most durable plastic bait I've ever used & their action is superior as well. And that's not just my opinion, there are many TFF'ers that'll agree.

Hey Rowdy! It was nice meeting you the other day. I mainly use the Bobby Garland Baby Shads and I like the Slab Bandits too.

A small drop of super-glue GEL (the regular super-glue runs too much) will help extend the "life" of your BG-Baby Shads!

Hope to see you again soon... We're heading back to "the spot" later on this morning.

Can you only get slab bandits online? Never seen them in a store, and online I'm not able to see a color chart.

Im on the BG Baby Shad train as well. They have performed very well when matched with minnow head gigs in 1/16 oz. I'll cut the heads down when I want to run less weight but I like the hook size of the 1/16th oz.

I pick mine up at Academy however from Rowdy's photo it seems they run on the slim side of color choices.

My favorite is the Live Baby Shad from Lake Fork Trophy Lures, but Bobby Garland, Slab Bandit and Rocky Top all make terrific soft plastics. We still have a ton of Bobby Garland's in stock and a few colors of the Slab Bandits and Live Baby Shad. All of our stuff is 50% off so you can't beat the price. Call Jana at 903-887-0334 and she will fix you up.

Wulf's in Athens & Westlake Bait & Tackle in Chandler carry the Slab Bandits & as mentioned, Crazyangler.com has a color chart. I think Wulfs web site does too.
