Today I had my friend Larry Gillmore from Azel, Tx, and his grandson Hunter from LeAnder, Tx for a returning trip. This was their first time to try Somerville. The trip got started late, 7:30am, due to a nice Thunder storm that dropped about 8/10 of an inch on the lake. Of course the wether man forgot to look out side and see what was happening, so he missed it again.
Forecast was 10mph SSW winds all morning and it started out 15+mph out of NNW, and stayed that way most of the morning.
The good thing is the fish did not care about the weather, too much. The bite did change from aggressive to nibble when the winds got stronger mid morning. Hunter caught the most fish as well as the largest to make a good day for him.
They ended the day at noon with 42 cats, largest going 2.5#. All fish caught under cork, in 2-3 foot water, using CJ's Crawdad punch bait.
