Hey guys I am farely new to catfishing on a boat but I was curious. Has anyone ever caught shad and perch blended them up, froze it into a block. Anchor your boat and drop the bait block to draw the fish in? If so did it work or is there already a technique out like this? Pics or recipes would be awesome

Save your shad and perch and fish with them.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Give it a try.

Not if anyone has tried it.

But what i noticed with chumming water it seems to attract alot of little one.

Iv noticed marking fish and anchoring on them and use cut shad or perch seems to get the job done

That'll bring the channel cat in like mad. You'll get a lot of little'uns though. Also, if you put too much chum in the water, the fish will eat all of that and won't eat your bait.

That's why I was thinking id blend it up and freeze it. I wonder if there's a bait you could use to only lure in the blues or flattheads

Something my Grandpa taught me was to cut a tow sack (burlap feed bag) in to about 12"x12" squares, load 'em up with liver and cheese, dry dog food and shad gizzards, whatever you have on hand. Put a rock in to sink it good and tie it up with twine. Toss 2 or 3 of those in and cast nearby. It's always worked.

You better wash Momma's blender or you will not be able to fish with those two black eyes.
