I am looking at getting one or two. Wondering if anyone is making them around here for a good price. I know someone was talking about starting to make some and not sure if it ever got going. Thanks Steve

I was I'm just having trouble getting hold of the person that was supposed to be supplying the steel which would have made the ones I made 100% to charity. But I'm sure I can find some steel and such for one. What size and such do you want?

I have a 19 ft boat. Not looking for a big ones. I am looking for 2. I have never seen one in person and dont know how big a normal one is so I really dont know. I will have to talk to a few people and see if I can get some steel.

Go with 12inch and 3/4 steel. That's what I did.I called the other day
and they said a 20 foot 3/4 4 inch wide was $40.00.That will have Anuff
to build two 12s.

Here's two that I put together from some steel I had laying around in the shop. The one on the right is 14 x14, done with 2"x 1/4" flat and 2"x2" angle, weighs just over 16 pounds. The left one is 3 x 1/4" flat, 16 x 16 and weighs just over 20 pounds. They got a paint job after I took the photos.

I am not trying to undercut anyone that is trying to sell. If anyone in Lewisville area wants to make one let me know. I have a welder and I will help. Just come by with steel and 12 pk of beer and we can build it. All you need for steel is 7 foot of 3"x1/4" flat and you can build one. My dad made one out of 3"x3/8" and it is a little heavy. Man do they hold in big wind though.

You forgot to put a small anchor inside to make it a true box anchor. LOL

LOL, not looking for a bar, just to help some TFF'ers that are trying to save a little cash in tough times. Just lending a helping hand.

just curious. What size would be needed to hold a 20' pontoon barge in a 20 MPH wind?
