About 3 MPH - that's cruising speed in my kayak, as opposed to casual speed of 2 MPH and breakneck speed of 4 MPH.

Well my boat idles at about 3.1 mph, and that seems too do the job.. I don't know why you'd go slower or faster than that, unless we were trolling for tuna...

2 1/2 to 4 MPH depending on wind speed and direction. About 3 MPH is good for Hybereds, Stripers, and Sandbass.

3 is the key. I always troll about 3 or no faster than 3.5

a friend of mine ties 5 gallon Home Depot buckets to a piece of rope that is about 15' long, ties the rope to a cleat, and throws the buckets over the side. They slow his boat down to about 2.5 mph, he swears that it helps him when trolling.

Depending on the wind,I troll at 2.5-3.2 or so. with a head wind, it sometimes slows me down to under 2 mph. Like everyone else says, about 3 seems to get the job done well

I troll as fast as I can and still be able to weave in and out of all the other boats. If I go too slow the other fishermen have a better chance of whacking me in the head with a slab.

Nominal pedal speed which about right for the Hellbenders, around 2 MPH. I can keep that speed up for hours.
