I recently bought a 1986 Skeeter Strada. Should it have a bilge pump?

YES! All boats should have a bilge pump... and actually, having two would be an ideal situation but if not 2, then definitely the largest one you can afford.

should be at the back of the bilge right in front of the transom. this is the typical mounting place for them.

I have an '88 Paul Elias Cajun and I have to pull the batteries and oil tank out. There is a panel that lifts up and mine are there. Not the easiest to get to!

I had a 87 Srata and if memory servs me it was in the well next to the transome mounted livewell fill pump. There should be a discharge hose out the back of the cap near the transom, you can follow the pump back to the pump.
