During my skunkfest at Gvine I did get to cast one of the new PA reesl on a 10' PA rod with 4 oz that Jim was showing off and I cast it around 500 yds or so...... ....that weight sailed outa sight!

seriously around 120-130 yds on a good throw but not my hardest/best throw........almost makes me wanna switch to Baitcasters.........

Also...I'm pretty sure 500 yards of line wouldn't fit on one and a half of those reels.

it was way far enough a guy at the lake came over and started talking to us and got Jims number so jim can sell him some when they get them...........

it was so far I handed it back to Jim to let him reel it back in.....took like 7 minutes......

They're great reels. I just spooled up two of them with 30lb Cabelas Salt Striker mono.

D.C.M. I got one of the same combo's and I agree with you. A country mile. I plan on getting me another set this week. The only bad part about it is the reel in. I could imagine having a 50 bls monster on there. I also have a Abu 7000 on the same rod and the PAT reel casted further. I am sold.
