Hey, I went out today mid-morning and was out there for about 5 hours. Also wanted to get better using flourocarbon line. So, I avoided bringing my usual reels with +30 lb braided line. It was pretty slow, but not dead. I decided to post some along with some "unique" catches. All were released. One on the 2nd cast. Caught another similar to it. [img:left] [/img] Wasnt getting anything for almost an hour after-wards. So switched to a lipless SK Sexy shad: Nothing after that. So decided to try this new squarebill (BPS-store brand). Im amazed how Rios are extremely aggressive. The lure is almost as big as the fish. I think I should changed the hooks with some smaller H20. The hooks on this lure are still the factory ones. Nothing after that. So decided to try out this deep-diver that I had for a long time. I actually yanked it from Buffalo Run park almost 2 years ago when my TX-rig got snagged on timber. I changed out the hooks with some new H20 trebles. The following 2 (although small) were caught back to back: Nothing else after that, so decided to go finesse and cast in a weightless fluke. I felt a good bite, so I set the hook and snagged and landed another Rio. Aggressive little bugger:

Watch out for them gators...I used to see a few in some canals behind my old house in Katy...Granted this was 10 years ago and the development was new...But Im sure there is still a few lurking around.

Cool, thanks yall.
I wouldnt be surprised if I do see a gator or 2 at the creek. I have seen some copperheads though.
I was told there were some gators at Bush park (creek cove area), but never seen any. I did see some deer, hogs, even 2 bobcats.
Its a shame that place is bone-dry now.
