well me and rick had plans to do a weekend trip somewhere, he had mentioned a place that he wanted to and so did i, after many texts back and forth we hatched a plan. he went out a weekbefore and looked at it and gave me the scoop, but from what i saw this weekend, those pics didnt due it justice.i got there friday at 2pm and paid for a site and drove out, when i got there i was faced with a 4ft cliff to the right, a 1 foot step down to rocks and clay spikes in the middle and a huge cliff to the left. i looked at it and thought man this will be had at 3am we might fall and break a leg. so i moved mack 30 yards to a beach area. after getting the bivvy up i was fishing my 5pm. while waiting i took the marker rod and went around looking for deep water, but with the lake 9 feet low, deep water wasent there unless i had a boat so i settles with 13 feet and trees sticking out. rick got there abput 5:30 and put his stuff away and while unpacking he forgot his alarms. doh!!!. so while he was driving back home i sit back and watched "mall cop" and waited on a run. rick got back around 10:30 i think and passed out. i reeled in and went to bed soon after.
saturday morning we woke up to wind and heavy clouds but was cool, we baited up with cubes, maize, birdseed and method, and got the rods out,and retired back to the bivvy which was a 50 yard walk maybe 60. we couldnt but the bivvy by the water due to county water regulations the lady told us when i paid camping fees. few hours after baiting the catfish start nice and thick, chad got a 19lb blue cat and later on got a 11lb blue,in between 10,000 kittys about 2 pounds some less then that. me on the other hand had cats like rick, but i broke the un official buffalo lake record of 16.80 with a 17 lb buff and lateron with a 19 pound buff, i did catch a few card but none was over 10 pounds. i had a great time, got my fill of sand and catfish along with rick. here are a few pics.
