November 18,2011 Thank you for Deer Season! And Thank You Birds!! Especially when nobody and I mean Nobody is in Sabine Lake with you (not for a while). Actually we caught 6 or 7 Specks under the Rainbow Bridge. Flock of birds right there, you could not get out of Ancelet's with out running through them, as we were heading out to Sabine Lake. I knew it would be a good day when you start catching fish, before you get started. Did not keep any (mostly 15"-16"), did not want to limit out on little ones. Did not take long to get on the birds and stay on them all day. More Redfish working the birds than Specks in the morning. We just went from one flock to the next pretty much all day. Soft Plastics and Spoons, but when working the birds it does not matter much. Feeding Specks and Redfish will eat almost anything that moves.. Stay away from treble hooks, they will slow you down and cost valuable time. Ended up with 18 Trout, 5 Reds, and 1 Flounder, lost or threw back twice that many. Good news, My New, New, New Boat should be here before Thanksgiving if all goes well, if not, it will be the next week for sure. When I get it I will start booking trips again. www.luckylindycharters.com
