Location: Discharge
Baits: Fresh dead shad, shrimp, chicken liver, big marv cheese bait.
Water temp: 69-71
Presentation: Carolina rigged, off the bottom
Time spent fishing: 9 hrs
Morning started of good, we landed 15 cats in under 1 hour on liver and cheese bait. Things started to die off around 10am and there was a long pause in the action till around 12pm. Shad became the choice bait with 2 stripers and 3 more cats. We cuaght a few reds, but all were undersized.
We decided to move at 1pm and anchored near the dam outlet and fished all baits. Cuaght a nice red measuring at 23 inches, which we released. We graphed tons of fished in 30 foot of water, tried everything to get them to bite, all the baits, slabs and some lures...nothing. Next week I am going to dedicate my time drift fishing live shad if the winds are down. All in all we had a moderate day of fishing.
