My dad built me a box out of 3" x 3/8 x 7'. 26 lbs with 5 lbs of chain and I only had about 90 ft of rope. Went Fri in all that wind and tossed out back in 45 fow and it instantly grabbed and held. I have never been able to anchor in that deep of water. Going to finish the second anchor to weigh about 20 lbs for front then I will practice at keeping boat stable. Love anchoring out the back, man the boat stays stable. Thanks to all who shared on anchoring techniques.

BTW 31 lbs of anchor and chain to lift out of 45 fow 3 times is a chore. I am glad that at Twok I will have 2 young guys on my boat.

Tom, yes I know it is too heavy but I got it for free and it does hold. I won't be throwing it all the time, only bad days.

Should get the job done.
But don't drop in the bottom of your boat.
