Went to the big sale at cabelas tonight and had a new duckett on my list. Every one that I liked on the rack had flaws. From crooked eyes to bends in the blank, and even weakspots near the handle. I picked up a veritas instead. I'll still give duckett a shot but boy am I going to look them over throughly before taking one home.

All rods built overseas are subject to having issues. Many do.

I have a hard time buying a rod in a store. I worked for academy while in college and watched how people abuse rods on the shelf. Not pretty

^^^^^I agree with the above post...Ive seen first hand how UPS handles packages and it is very disturbing...Saw a dude chunking about 20 packages out of the back of his UPS truck onto the concrete....pretty bad. I received damaged rods before and UPS tried to hide it by taping the shipping tube up at the damaged area. Give Duckett a try i'm sure you'll be pleased.

Right. I won't buy a rod I can't physically pick up and examine. The actions can vary even with the same rod models and you want to make sure the rod is perfect, before you buy.

I order rods from tacklewarehouse. If something went wrong in shipping call them send it back and get a new one. Easy done

Regardless, Will does a dang Good job of taking extra precautions when shipping our orders! You guys would be amazed at the type of attention Duckett puts in to the shipping process.....I don't believe the big box stores do a good job unpacking and handling on the customer side of things....we inspect and inform our vendor for any issues we see and it's taken care of....Be confident in the product we are selling to you....feel free to call us with any questions you have about the Duckett line of rods and the soon to be white ice series. Thanks!

I worked at walmart for a short time for insurance and I can tell you I saw the treatment customers gave the rods. They would wave them around like they were in a sword fight or see if they could bend the tip around to touch the handle. I never bought a rod from Duckett mail order but I have from Kistler and AllPro and the way they are packed I don't see how they could get damaged in shipment. Kistler uses Fedex and AllPro uses UPS but they ship the rods in pcv pipe.

Thats my biggest issue with wright&mCgill, seen A lot of flaws in them got a microguide one and the guides are all over the place, not very lined up. Never had anything close to a problem with a falcon!
