[b]Hey everyone. This is my first post and thought I'd give you my "Playing Hooky" report. I took off work today and decided to give Palestine a try. My friend, Blackwolf and I had the pleasure of Meeting C.V. last night and got some cool "SLABMESILLY" jigs from him. He gave us some good advise on the lake. We had never been there and were gratfull for the tips. I called ahead and found out that there would be a bass tourney going on this weekend so I expected the crowd. We set out early this morning and and hit the Marina about 6:30am and the first thing we noticed was the sad shape of the ramp. Though not the marina's fault but the low water level. Looks like this is what we're all seeing everywhere. To our fortune I have a 14' jon boat and can launch pretty easy. The bad news is I couldnt get out to where we wanted due to the wind. We were limited to the marina side and didnt have much luck finding any crappie. I did however get to land a pretty good size bass. We'll try again some other time. Again, thanks C.V.

Welcome to TFF neighbor! Yeah that was a day yesterday HUH? That boat ramp could be stress at times, we talked to John that works there and he said if they didn't get any rain, a good rain, this ramp will maybe be closed in a bout a week or two.
We will gettem next time for sure!! sick

Mario, welcome to the forum and like crope1 said, come on back and you'll see, Palestine IS a great lake......when it's not closed rolleyes! But I usually post that information as it occurs police. As for Mr. Roachie's post, he obviously forgot that this was HIS week to be the "Welcome Wagon" from the Palestine area due to the tremendous amount of free time he has in between Totin Guns, Trappin Hogs, Catchin Crappie (rarely rolfmao), Hoggin Brush and Getin his neck red.
