bascat, it is the lake by the park (used to be the lake by the school)
ckcrew, yep it is muddy at Prosper. I've only had luck on Berkley trout dough on warmer days. I suspect for a day like today it may be warm enough that they are feeding at the surface?

Planning a trip to Waterloo in Denison this Saturday with the wife and our three nieces. I have never fished any of the trout stockings before and thought we would give it a try. Has anyone fished there recently? I've fished Waterloo a lot. It is slowing down as I suspect they are getting fished out. Next stocking is 2/12.

Frisco is hosting a Trout Derby! Here is a link to their site - Trick-A-Trout. Looks like it is for Kids, so should be fun.

Taking my girlfriend's son out to Northwest Park (Irving) tomorrow. What have they been biting on, I was planning on using powerbait and corn. Good luck with the wind out there. Suppost to be gusty again tomorrow. Too windy to detect a bite with the wind grabbing the line like a sail today. Maybe I would of had better luck with some more weight but was to lazy to retie. Tryed some Power Eggs and mallows for 30 mins and called it quits. Anyways.....give us a report when it's all said and done.

sure was a lot of catching but kind of disappointing when they aint much bigger than fingerlings You and me both. After I spent $100 on power bait,Super Dupers and hooks to get ready for this season I was very disappointed that TPWD did not stock some decent trout. If it were not for Tarrant Regional Water District, City of Weatherford and other agencies that buy their trout elsewhere the season would be a real bust.

I live in Mesquite and this will be my first time trying for these trout. I know it is a little late to catch them hot and heavy due to all the cormorants and people picking them off, but I need some advice on which pond to fish. Which pond could i fish that would give me the best shot at catching a trout but wont kill my gas tank. I assume use the power bait.
Any help will be appreciated!
Kyle

No advice? Not asking for your best spot, just somewhere where I could catch one or two. I know Mesquite city lake has been tough from what I've heard.

I planned on trying my luck tomorrow. I wonder why Mesquite is so tough. Thanks for the advice though!

Try Mike Lewis Park in Grand Prairie on Feb 16. Use chartreuse (green) power bait nuggets on 4-6 lb line and fish off the docks. Good luck !
