It's that time of year again. I have heard of some good reports coming in. Any of yall been to our little honey hole lately? Looks like me and the kids will be making the trip next Wednesday morning.

Well not as good as we were expecting, but it was good to see all those familiar faces.

I went over to the other spot after you left,and did quite a bit better,came home with 10 but threw back 3 times that,,and no "ultra" dinks,they were all 9 1/2-10"

I hate you guys.... I'm lost as Hogans goat here. Plus I'm home alone all week, all by myself. I have no idea where to go. I've got half a nerve to drive up there and show the "watch my line bunch" what for.

Honestly with two house payments I've been too broke to fish. Can't afford to take the boat out but about once a month. Since its cooled off I've started looking for a place or two to bank fish from. I went to Bardwell a few weeks ago and their crappie house was shut down. Guess it only open on the weekend? Then I went around to the various parks there an all the gate attendants told me I might as well fish in my bath tub since the water was about 100 yards from the shoreline. I haven't tried Cedar Creek yet. I've just been assuming with the lake as low as it is that the crappie houses are all in 2 foot of water. Of course I have no idea though.

I've been out on Waxahachie Lake a few times in the boat and ha good luck catching cats on cut bait but haven't many crappie yet. Funny thing though is I was going to send out a mass PM this evening to all the area fishermen I've met on the forum to ask for advice on where to go. I know creek fishing is popular around here but even if I knew where to go I probably wouldn't catch anything other than a cold. I've never lived anywhere in Texas that had "creeks" lol.

Bardwell is only open Friday - Sunday now iirc. Wax, you should have done good on Crappie, I dont have any waypoints, but know the general area of where we have caught before.... Hopefully the crappie move into the creeks in the next couple weeks. I went a couple of sundays ago and could only talk some sandies into biting....

Hopefully, you get the house in West Tx sold quickly....
