Does any one know of a website that can show me... in Denton County... what lands are public and private. I think I have found a real nice looking river off of lake lewisville. I stopped by there tuesday and drove through an opening. I didnot see ANY signs so I went on in. Had no problems while I was there. As I was leaving, a guy and his wife were close to the entrance on their 4wheeler on the phone. Quick story shorter, I asked public/private... and of course he is going to say private. I know I would if I didnt want people tearing up public land with trash and mudding.
Anyways, if you could please help me, that would be awesome. I wouldnt even mind making it a known spot.

When you say "an opening" do you mean through an open gate? If it's not posted no tresspassing then there isnt much they can do right?

Only decent size feeder creeks for lewisville that isn't public is Pecan creek and Little Elm. All the land surrounding them is private. As for tresspassing thats another thing. Get a kayak and go up the creeks. Stay on the water and they cant touch you. Plus the fishing spots are better.

Some people don't know this but purple paint on a tree, sign, etc means private property. So look out for that.

You may want to ask the county. Not sure if they can provide the info free of charge.

If a private land, you can ask the owner if you can fish it.
A long time ago, I learned a life lesson about Texas and its very respectable and courteous citizens (which i am too).

I know some welcome you if you pay a small fee (since it's an additional source of income to them).
