Hellow fellow fisherpeople. I have been reading the posts for a couple of years but never have registered and created a post until now. The wife and I (we will just call her IAmAlmostOutOfMinnows) have been fishin together from the day we met. Could not find a better partner but I have never been able to out fish her. We fish Crappie and Cats mostly on Ray Bob and Palestine in a white Bay Stealth with walk through windshield. It's an older model boat that i just bought because I can't launch the toon anymore from lack of water. If ya see us give us a wave. Anyway to get to the point I was wondering if anyone has latest on Palestine Crappie? We are going to pend the week of thanksgiving at the lake chasing Crappie. Timber or Brushpiles producing the best? The last I heard was best to fish 8 to 12 ft in 25 ft water? Oops the boss just walked in, gotta go. Any info would be appreciated.

First, welcome to the forum. If you want to catch quick limits, hit the 155 bridge. In your boat you shouldn't be bothered too much by the wind. I'd hit the first 3-4 sets of pilings on either end fishing 10-14' down. A friend had his limit in an hour and a half yesterday. Good luck.

I'll also be on the lake all week so we'll probably see you around. I'm in a red Stratos. And welcome to the forum.

I'll be there Fri & Sat wind permitting. I'll watch for you both. I didn't find out the jig color from yesterday yet but I will.

I probably won't even launch till Tuesday. When we go for the week IAmAlmostOutOfMinnows wants to bring the whole house with us. So much to do and so little time.

What size motor? A friend said he was backing his trailer with his bass buster in on the South end of the bridge. Don't know what the recent rain might've done.

Good luck to all who seeking Palestine. Take Pepop's pointers as they are critical. Vern knows Palestine....

Note:....Palestine is one rough lake if your vessel is not more than 17' when the wind exceed 15mph. Especially if you are fishing the 155 bridge, it is unforgiven due to its wide open for miles North and South. As the water gets colder and colder, please take extra precaution this time of year. Wear your life jacket as if it is your winter coat!

I just got off Palestine at 8:30 this morning because of the wind. Forecast for tomorrow is 15-25 all day. Not the kind of wind I want to fish in, especially Palestine. Sunday afternoon looks much better. As CV said, wear the life jacket. Water temps are in the low 60s and hypothermia sets in quickly.

I will not arrive until late Monday and will not launch until Tuesday or wednesday depending on the weather. No offense but I hope it rains there for the next four days straight so as to get some more water in the lake. Thanks for the advice, one can never be too safe. I have been on the lake before when the wind is up and I'm gettin too old for that.

I may be there around 9am on Monday if the weather holds true. 40% rain for tuesday, but the weathermen couldnt tell if it was raining right now.

I'm thinking the "weathermen" around these parts need to revert to weather newsmen. That way they can report on what happened yesterday and get the rain part right. You know that old saying about hindsight being 20/20. I'm going to get a rain gauge that measures number of drops; so things will sound really good. Like I got 20 drops instead of a trace. Big numbers sound so much better. Pray for rain.
