Alot of different techniques are working right now on Twok. Tailspinners on shallow humps will get ya super mag sandies with a fat hyb/striper here and there. Bouncing deadsticking jigs in those same areas tend to target hybs/striper. When the birds work its easy while it lasts but you can't rely on that everyday. Loons are here so when they are feeding take a look. Sometimes they are feeding with hybs and stripes. Today we caught fish using all the above methods but deadsticking stole the show with nothing but quality 6-9lb fish coming to net. Today was mostly striper but did manage a few fat hybs like this one...

Next week is wide open. Come getcha some. cheers

Nice report, Trent. The dead sticking is almost here on Lewisville. They seem to want just a small movement with a slab. I just can not break the code with plastics yet. They will tap it and I miss them. It is only a matter of time.
You are lucky to be able to fish Tawakoni. It is full of huge fish. They catch and keep them before they grow large up here.

That deadsticking jig approach is stellar. One of the best finese approaches that I have seen. It works time and time again especially drifting over humps and schools of shad. I am looking forward to my turn.

Great time was has yesterday. Stripaholic had 4 stripers in the boat before I caught one. He is definatly the master at deadsticking. Went out thinking it would be a tough day after the front, and the fish were hard to find. Also the bite was very light. We missed at least as many as we caught. All fish released to fight another day. Thanks Trent for a great day.

Plan to give deadsticking a shot for the first time this year. Seems to work great for you fellas. Do ya find 'em on the graph, then drop down on 'em and jig? Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks!

Thanks Don. You might try to lighten your rig for plastics. You'll miss some thats just part of it. Ninja quick reflexes on the tap is key. thumb

Did some deadstickin last year for my first time at Twak. There's definitely an art to it. I missed a whole lot more than I caught, but it was a blast.
I'll have to hone my skills out there soon. Nice report and fish Trent!

I've got Tuesday and Wednesday open next week. Give me a call.

I'm ready for the December gathering. Can hardly wait. Good friends, fishing, a little drinking, a little more drinking, some more fishing, little more drinking...getting buzzed just thinking about it. Of course that would be after the fishing.

Fog squashed the topwater bite today...but still had a good day with 3 limits of hybs/striper to 8lbs with some big sandies thrown in. Then I decided to try an old big fish spot that hasn't produced in over 2 years. As soon as we dropped the jigs down one gets smashed! This beast starts peeling off line and staying down. When she finally came up this big comes to net...

She was hooked in the gills so she'll make for some fine eating. food

Since they didn't come up today I bet they will make up for it tomorrow. cheers

Nice Trent!! I saw you're customers bringing in fish. Too bad nothing would look at my jig. I'm still trying to figure this deadstick thing out.

That fog was INSANE yestrday morning. I was a bit puckered for an hour or two out there. I could hear boats around me but couldn't see a thing!

luv to fish. If u haven't, I recommend a trip with Trent. He is a master of fine tuning the art of dead sticking. I used his techniques and similar jig heads on Fri at Lake Bport. tore up the mag sandies and netted 6 hybrids to 4.5 lbs. no monsters but the technique was similar.

Yea that fog was eery. Not a good idea to get on plane in that. Too dangerous.

Check out this "would be" 45 lb lake record Buffalo that Kidstriper landed recently...

I had to chase that fish with the trolling motor to keep it from going to far under and behind the boat. I thought it was a giant catfish. Epic freshwater battle! cheers
