Angry Dog in Deep Ellum is about as good as it gets for Quality Vs. Price! Don't even worry about Quantity. If you leave there and aren't full, it's your own fault.

Jalapeno's and Sicily's (Italian) in McKinney. They are located north of 380 directly east of 75 past Bill Smith's Cafe. Sicily's is BYOB. Both have excellent food, and you won't find it cheaper. You can easily get out the door for $10 each with a drink (alcohol).

The Club (Sam's that is). Jumbo Nathan's dog and a coke for $1.50, plus all the free samples in the grocery section that you can score. Can't beat that with a stick.

Have to agree about the Sam's deal. That has been the same price for at least 15 years. Some of them have the polish dog, which is good especially with mustard and the sauerkraut they provide. In fact, I saw a guy in there the other day mixing a little German with the Italian - eating sauerkraut along with his pepperoni pizza. Might be good!

Most of the little mom and pop taquerias you see everywhere can be counted on for good food cheap. It's what their base clientele demands. If you ever find yourself in La Grange around lunchtime stop in at Rio Verde on 77 just north of town. Insanely good and insanely cheap.

food

A little spanish is helpful but not required....

Fuel city, right off of 35 headed south from downtown Dallas (backed up to the trinity river). Awesome authentic mexican tacos. Cheap and darn good.

Well, you've talked me into it. I eat next door at Baker's once in a while. I'll try Angry Dog soon and get back with a review.
