I talked to the folks at Purtis Creek today, they are getting ready to have a Carp Tourmanent. Then they are developing a plan to get the Grass Carp out of the lake and introduce vegetation back into the lake. The Carp in this lake are the biggest I've ever seen.

The Carp are protected by law now, they are working with TP&w to get that changed. Then they will allow fishing and bow hunting. They are having a meeting Dec 3rd with one of their Biologist to discuss Control, vegetation & and the tournament. This will be a awesome lake if they can get some vegetation back and some rain, right now the lake is 6 ft low.

Seems like I've heard talk of this before. They dumped those carp in 2007 and I think the life span on them is about ten years, so it'd be nice if they sped up the process. They're sterile so there aren't any new ones coming up, but man they have done a number on that lake.

Even if they do get the carp out, it'll be a while before there'd be any grass worth mentioning with the lake so low... It's gonna take some time whatever they do...

Angling is extremely time consuming. That's sort of the whole point.
