Come join us Sunday, Dec 4, on the shore of Lake Houston in Kingwood, Texas for a carp, buff, and who knows fish-in!
No fee, just fun! Side pots are optional.
I'll be there from sun-up until 5pm. Hope to see you!
How to get there: 1. Plug these into Google Maps and ask for directions! 30.031297,-95.171578
2. Follow these directions. Hwy 59 to FM 1960. FM 1960 East around 6 miles to W. Lake Houston Parkway. Left on W. Lake Houston Parkway. Cross the bridge over the San Jac River. Second right after the bridge on Magnolia Cove Dr. Right on Kings Harbor Dr. Left on Regent Manor Dr. Follow it to the dead end. Trail to the canoe/kayak launch is on the left.

Somebody will be for sure. Last time theCARPenter prebaited the night before and I hit it early with about 20 lbs of range cubes. I'll most likely do it again. Also, you don't need 'carp' gear to fish. Last fish-in the guy who caught the most fish was using bass/catfish gear!

I am now on the fence about this fish in. I'd love to go but time and money are very tight for me right now and I may not be able to fit it all in.

The weather outside was frightful, some fish would be delightful, since we've no lawn to mow, let us go,let us go,let us go - Carping! (apologies to Sammy Cahn) Sunday started out cool and humid, very little wind, and high spirits. Jason had prebaited the swims the day before with about 50 lbs of bait, so we were expecting some action. There were a very few fish showing, couldn't tell what they were. Alan and Jason were already there when I arrived just as 7 am at the Kingwood swim. Alan had one rod out and another almost set up. Jason was still setting up. I surveyed what the swim had to offer, and set up a hundred yards or so west of Jason. About an hour after putting out my first line, I had something playing with one of them, and lifted the hook into this nice 16-8 buff: Not long after I brought in a small channel cat. The alarms we quiet for a while so I went visiting with Alan and with Jason and his guests, two of his guitar students: and had an egg taco; thanks Jason! After another hour, and I lifted into another buff (I think). I lost it quickly and rebaited. Since Jason and Alan weren't getting any runs Alan moves over to the other side of my swim. The rains started up around 11, lightly at first, and coming in waves. Soon the wind shifted from the north, the rain started in earnest, and the temperature started dropping. Around 1:30 there was a lull in the rain, and I started packing up since I had an early dinner to attend. I had two runs while I was packing; another channel cat and another larger fish, which actually broke my hook! It wasn't a day of good weather or good catching, but still a nice day for sharing the bank with fellow carpers!

There must be a monster in that lake takes a lot of pressure to break a carpers hook. What type a hook do you use. Great write up and great pics. Nice to see more sessions being posted in the carp section haven't fished so love to read others post

I had a good time. Love to do it again sometime down the road at that same spot to see if I can break my dry spell. Hey brian, sorry for bailing and not saying my goodbye's. My shoes were SOAKED. And I was getting cold. I texted jason a few hours after I got home and he said he still had no action. In all it was a good time.

Great Alan; we'll keep at it until you get into a good catch! Perhaps try again at Arthur Storey Park (Beltway at Bellaire) or somewhere else nearer to Sugar Land.

Yeah and whenever I get everything settled down, I just moved in pretty close to you in Pearland. We should try to fish together some time.

Yall let me know the date and time.
I wanted to go to your Lake Houston Fish In, but it was too far for me and I had errands to do that day (Christmas shopping, watching the Texans, 9-3 woot).
The girl at the front desk showed me some photos of her and her boyfriend going to Oyster creek in Sugar Land. They caught some cats, carp, and buffalo.

Ive only been there once (and it was a brief trip). Ive parked in the plaza shops at Hwy 6. There's real good bank access. Ive even saw a fella bring in his kayak and launch in. http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbt..._TX#Post6790736
