I would like to invite everyone here to the January 15th, 2012 "Lunker Hunters Team Tournaments" tournament on Coleto Creek.

Entry fee is $80.00 per team.

Tournament Rules:
• All entry fees must be paid by no later than 6:30AM the morning of the tournament.
• Check-in is from 5:00AM-6:30AM.
• Entry fee is 80.00 per boat/team. Once your entry is paid, there are no refunds.
• Live well checks will be performed from 5:00AM-6:30AM the day of the tournament at the main launch. Failure to be present will result in disqualification.
• You can launch as early as 5:15AM. DO NOT LEAVE the ramp until the tournament director releases the boats at the ramp, this will happen between 6:30 – 6:45AM or at SAFE LIGHT.
• Trailering of boats is allowed to any access facility on the tournament lake after the teams’ entry/ waiver is completed, and the boats have been released from the ramp by the Tournament Director.
• Fishing begins after the release of the boats. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification.
• Weigh in is at 3:00PM. Your boat must be off plane and inside of the buoys at the tournament weigh in ramp by no later than 3:00PM.
• There is NO OFF LIMITS on the tournament lakes.
• Lifejackets must be worn when the boat is on-plane. We recommend wearing them at all times.
• Dead fish will incur a 1/2 LB penalty per fish.
• Dead fish WILL NOT be considered for Big Bass prize.
• The teams may have no more than 6 fish in possession at any time and a maximum of 5 fish in possession at weigh in. Solo anglers must abide by state regulations.
• Artificial baits/lures only, with the exception of pork trailers and Gulp Alive.
• All persons in tournament boats must adhere to all lake rules.
• All fish must be caught with rod and reel on a hook during the tournament hours.
• Cheating will result in disqualification and public ridicule.
• Fish that will be considered for the tournaments are – Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Spotted Bass and Guadalupe bass. See next rule for tournament length requirement.
• All fish weighed in must be a minimum of 14” or lake regulations, whichever is greater.
• All entry fees are to be paid in CASH, no checks, no credit cards.
• No non-tournament passengers are allowed on tournament boats, with the exception of tournament officials.

I think the Federation is there that weekend. Should make it interesting.

Federation is there the following weekend.

I was pretty sure we set the tournament to miss the big stuff.

We originally had it set for the 22nd, but found out about Federation and a couple others that weekend.

We are hoping to pick up a few pre-fishermen the day of the tournament.

The Federation South region is the following weekend but the Federation Southeast region is on the 14th

GBRA frowns on soliciting in there parking lot... Also the plant should be running right now or within a few days. It will change the strings to much larger if this indeed happens.

If it isn't freezing cold and 30 mph winds, I will be there with 2 teams.

I just hope that we have the weather we are having today on the weekend of the tournament. Awesome morning - 50 degrees - Light wind, perfect....

Was gonna prefish that week-end for federation on the 21,22 so count me in.

Awesome, glad to hear it, we should have a good turn out if the weather doesn't screw us over. I have been getting quote a few contacts through other forums and our website, 2-3x more than usual, so we could be well over 30 boats.

There will be at least 70 boats or more on the lake that weekend from the calls we got for it. Gonna be interesting heh?

You must mean with other tournaments... I don't think we could handle that kind of a turn out yet.

I have no doubts that the lake can handle that many boats though, there have been tournaments in years past with 100-150 boats in them.

I hope I'm not too late to book a cabin....

That is calls for your tourney and several Bass clubs. Doesn`t count the prefishing federation guys and weekend warriors either.

This lake has handled 135 teams and over 100+ for years. The crazy thing is it is not crowded on the lake. Just the boat ramp is a Monkey F*** when there is that many, especially when it`s low like it is.

Sorry man, they have been rented months in advance for that weekend.

Wow, so you think we might get 30+ or 40+?

There has been many calls just for your tourney alone. As many people that are going to be there, I bet you will have alot more then ever before. 30 to 40 teams could easily happen.

I hope so, but I really hope that we can handle it. It shouldn't be a problem, we may just have to delay the release by a few minutes to get everyone registered.

Sound like everyone needs to get there as early as possible. Check-in is open at 5:00AM till safe light (around 7:00AM).

Word is that the power plant is partially back online and should be full speed ahead soon. What have you heard yepitsme?

That is correct. The plant is basically circulating water right now with maybe 1 generator running. Both had cracks that needed to be fixed. They do not have the gates down in the water which would raise the water into the (cooling tanks) generators more and drop the main lake a good 4 to 5 inches. Hope that they do not do that or you will really have a problem at the ramp. Temps are still 75 at discharge 2 and gets to 69 right outside the where it dumps into the main creek. Lake is around 62 from dam to houses in perdido creek. Caught 20 lbs easily on Monday with BB 7 lbs. Hope this helps.

I think this is going to be our best tournament yet. Definitely its going to be a hell of a kick off for the year.

The Big bass pot is no longer optional. The entry is a flat $80.00 and everyone is in for the Big Bass. Bring $80.00...
