there are legal issues transporting fish from water body to water body ... i think it is ok to transport them from a lake to a private body of water though as long as it isnt an under or slotfish...might be wrong though ...im sure someone who knows for sure will chime in though

It's not illegal. You can go from a public water to private, but not from public to public.

It was a completely legal fish to catch and keep, and the water we released it in is a completely private pond as well, very deep, lots of vegetation. We also handled the fish very little, once when we caught it to photograph and weigh it, then in the livewell it went with the pumps running all day. Didn't touch her again until releasing her.

friend does that with choke bass all the time, he just pulled out a 9lber the other day from he tank, it's fun fishing over there. i lost a huge bass last summer, just plowed through the grass till it broke.

Thanks for sharing. Have restocked farm ponds with fish from other ponds. Transported in a 5 gallon bucket and fish, though smaller survived and thrived. The new "large" gene pool should make that pond awesome.

I've done that from private pond to private pond and quite frankly the pond I moved them to was not as nice for the pond I was taking them from. This has been years ago and have established a pretty nice population of bass in the lesser pond. This pond had no bass in it when I started.

I looked on the TPWD and couldn't find anything but when I fished in the Arlington bass club I was told that any fish caught on a lake during a multiple lake tourney had to be returned to the original lake and if it wasn't returned to its original lake we would be dq'ed because they said it was against the law

in public waters, yes, but in private waters, as long as it is a legally caught and kept fish and not an invasive species, it is %100 legal....

yup you catch it its yours to do as you please with except release in another public lake.

You were fishing a tournament.....I believe these guys were fishing for pleasure. Different scenarios so different rules apply. Plus this went from a public lake to a private pond and as long as the fish was caught legally, they can do what they want with the fish.

+1. There are no Game rules concerning transporting legally caught fish in a public lake to a private pond. I hope that pond is spring fed and not subject to drying up if that horrible drought continues. From the looks of the pond in the video it looks to be in great shape and very healthy! I think those bass will find thier new home very much to thier liking!

I have done the same also from public to private caught 11.7,12.5 bass and a small 10#8oz that was the greatest fish I ever tasted was put in a smoker and ate the same day

yup. Spring fed pond, probably 3 or 4 acres, deep lots of stumps and lilly pads.
