ditto bob. just as important to use strong hooks IMO too.

Atta,
i use that same set up most of the time. wear em down instead of bringing em in HOT! summer time is a a lil different though. playing em down too much then will prevent em from being able to get back down where they need to be on the release. 15# is fine IMO & lots of folks here use Ande
or Big Game.

Sometimes i'll use 14# cajun or up to 40# braid on a spinning reel, no problem. what brand line are you using?

I'm not.. right now I gave them rigged with 12# big game mono and 4" sassy shad lures. My buddy is using 15# big game.. I have only ever used power pro when I did use braid. I figured 12# was ok but ny bud said 15 min. I'm a drag guy myself..

Hey Chace, I use 20 pound power pro braid that is 6 lb diameter and I bend hooks before I break the line when I get hung up lol. But it is a good casting line as well. It also last a long time so you don't have to change it so often. I also use the same rod you use and you are good to go on the big fish. Catch a bunch. thumb

I finally upgraded my reels. Used those rowlett creek reels all year.. got tired of losing hybrids. Now I can actually use bigger than 6# floro lol.. makes a diff for sure!!
