Sophie is about a 2 year old rescue dog. Jack Russel and Terrier mix, about 6 lbs. Gets along well with the other dogs and is quickly becoming one of the pack.

She was rescued by the Chinese Crested Dog association of DFW, found on the streets and was emaciated and near death. She was nursed back to health but is a little skittish around new people but is not agressive. She warms up to you pretty quickly.

My wife found her on Petfinder.com, and it was a done deal. If there is such a thing as the doggy lottery, she has hit it.

Good job nitroslim. I rescued one from the Ft Worth Humane society 5 yrs ago. They got her from a rescue in AR (bad deal there.) When we took her for a walk she would just lay down - not enough strenth to keep going. After a couple of weeks she was fine. She still treats me like I just got out of jail yesterday.

We adopted a stray Jack Russell-Chihuhaha mix-however you spell it.Problem dog,insanely jealous of other dogs for food and attention.I hate that I cannot get her a playmate but she will not tolerate it.But she is a great watchdog,she goes nuts when anything approaches our fence,so we always know of a person or animal around,and howls when the fire trucks run in town.

Cute lookin little doggie. We have 2 rescues and 1 that we adopted from a animal hospital.

I for one truly believe that animals know when you have rescued them and saved their life. They will repay you 10 fold.

I wish more folks would consider rescues and animal shelters for their dogs. If stray animals don't die on the streets by getting ran over, starve to death, or attacked by other predators they are picked up by animal control and euthanized after a short time of sitting in a cage. So sad.
