Hi everyone, new here. Just got a 1 owner 2003 ZX225 and have some "newb" questions.

1. Found water in one of the livewells even though both switches were on the "closed" position. I filled the livewell later at home and didn't see any water leaking out of the intake or anywhere else. Do I still have a problem with that valve not closing sometimes?

2. The automatic bilge pump works but when I hit the button on the dash for the pumps I don't see anything or really hear much other than the relay clicking behind the dash. How many pumps does this model have and shouldn't I be hearing something?

3. The trim tab on the OX66 225hp Vmax is not set straight back, it actually points to one side pretty aggressively. How are trim tabs usually set?

4. Normally shouldn't the battery/fuel tank compartment be completely dry? There always seems to be water in there. At one point the automatic bilge was coming on, but we found a couple of areas close to the drains that needed silicone.

Sorry about all the questions and thank you.

All sounds normal water has a way of getting everywhere. leave your livewell drain open until you get to lake then close it will keep water out. Auto bilge pump works off relay that sends power to float switch only when float switch activates pump will you hear the pump. No water in bilge no pump. The trim tab is used to nutralize torque and is a feel thing that makes steering easier but with hydrolic steering there is no torque in the steering so for you anyway so I would say if it bothers you move it. You need to read about all the parts of your boat and know how and why they work lots of lit out there for ya lots of web sites for the parts of your boat. Examples are Faria Guages.Rule pumps Sea Star hydrolic steering not sure about all the different products on your boat but learn them all and how they work.
