TPWD is not getting the info out quickly. They are 3-4 days behind. I have until this Wednesday to cancell our reservations for Thanksgiving week. Wife is asthmatic. Could I get a report on the status of the red tide in Port A?

Thanks,
David

I'm that freshwater guide that was down there last week.

It's pretty tough down there on the beaches.

Actually you can't stay on the beach long (it just gets to you and nobody can take it). Plus dead fish washed up on the beaches.

If I had known how bad it is - I would have not gone.

But if Bay fishing is your thing or Off Shore - those are Okay.

But the beach is BAD! But then again when the wind is out of the North the beach is Okay.

i went down to port a twice in october and i never noticed anything until our last day then it was just sore throat! Guess you have to weigh your options if being healthy comes before fishing then i guess you'd better not go wink .. i never saw an abundance or any for that matter dead fish... does the red tide come and go randomly?

Just delayed another trip down there today. You know its bad when your condo folks tell you not to come down!!! Maybe by Christmas, but I was saying it would be long gone by thanksgiving.
