I have recently started fishing urban and suburban ponds between trips to the coast. I am not much of a bass fisherman and typically just tie a crankbait on my ultralight set up to work these ponds. I have caught some decent fish in the past few weeks but today was a 1st. I was on top of a headwall and hooked in to a bass when I was bringing him up I noticed he had a buddy following. His buddy ended up going for the lure while it was in the other's mouth and managed to get hooked as well on the 2nd or 3rd pass.
Nice, I'm still waiting for my double. They look like pretty decent size?
I hate to guess but I'd say 2.5-3 & 3-3.5 or so. I grew up fishing the salt and that is still my primary fishing so guessing bass weights is new for me. I am fishing these ponds to hold me over between trips to the salt. The 1st one had the ultralight rig working hard but when the 2nd hit, it was pretty much dead weight from there.
Awesome Picture. That looks like it would have been a ton of fun.
