It is similar to the Loc and Stow or Loc and Haul. They work fine and are an improvement over the old school "transom savers". The do a good job of stabilizing your motor and keeps it from moving around. Your transom is or should be the strongest part of your boat and is stressed much more running across the lake than it will ever be driving down the road. If you have to worry about a "transom saver" relieving stress on your transom, you should be concerned about your transom, not your "transom saver". Of course, as always, JMO.
