Found a gill net today between the Northwest bridge and the Lawther bridge. Fishing buddy left a message on the warden's voice-mail. Looks like it had been beat up pretty bad by some large debris. It was wrapped around some logs in a mess against the bank opposite Flag Pole Hill. We marked the spot with a pink soccer ball on a pole driven into the mud. Damn shame...

Saw a limit of crappie pulled out of the trash mat at the bend. Looked like the fish were tight on structure as there were three guys on the trash mat and only the one hole in it was producing.

Lots of little sandies around 6" or so were being caught by the guys on the bank.

There is more timber in the creek than last year. Was a pain to maneuver through a lot of it.

Water temp is at 55 degrees.

When I paddle solo I use my Fish N Dive but when my buddy and I both go we take my Old Town Guide 147.

If you're looking for a workout paddle White Rock Creek after a rain. The current is so strong that you can see the debris slick push out into the lake 300-400 yards. Stay away from the bridges though. It gets too shallow there and any of that large timber rolling on the bottom could turn up and capsize you.

yup alot of yellows pulled out in that area also. think you can keep any size any limit. those gill net bastages ruined the crappie fishing a few years ago before they were caught and i haven't been back
