Is there any interest in a double haul class next Saturday, 11/19?

We're having the beginning fly fishing class at Eisenhower state park next Saturday morning. After lunch would be a good opportunity to hold a double haul class.

The double haul is one of the most useful casting techniques you can learn. It helps increase casting distance, helps with casting in the wind, and just plain makes casting easier.

This double haul casting class will not be a beginner level class. I'd like you to be able to consistently layout at least a 40 ft cast and to understand the basics of shooting line before taking this class.

Here the proposal:

Place: Eisenhower state park Rec hall
Date: Saturday, 11/19
Time: 1:00 to about 3:00
Class Size: 4 people max.

As always, all the Eisenhower events are free

That was Quick:
Participants:
1. Cob
2. Nate
3.
4.

Russell, if Jim and the rest of the crew over there don't have your casting straightened out by now, it might be time to consider golf. rolfmao

Maybe, but I haven't thought that far ahead, but we are planning to stay in town. I can't commit for sure tonight.

rex, i thought about that, but you wouldn't believe my golf swing. at least in golf you can cheat and throw your ball down the fairway, kick it out of a rut, nudge it in the hole with your foot. in fly fishing, well you just have to get it out there, right? my magic starts when the fly hits the water.
can i get a witness!!!

flehan Yep, you're right Russell, it doesn't really matter what the cast looks like as long as it gets where it needs to be to catch fish. Although, most of us need all the help from the cast we can get. dance2

For those of you that don't know Trout Bum, he's the president of the Ft Worth Flyfishers. Thanks to the efforts of Al Crise, the Ft Worth club has one of the highest concentrations of casting instructors you'll find in any fly fishing club. If they can't help him, I'm not sure that I want to try. frkazoid

yes we are blessed with great casters and instructors. the problem is i am too stubborn to listen, and i am not very patient either. i pick up tips every now and then, and have improved thanks to the help of many. great club, and a great group of men abd women to be associated with.
