Drove across Hubbard on my way to BPS earlier today and couldn't believe the size of some of the waves. Hope everyone was safe out there today.

Haven't been in 3 weeks, maybe I'll just back the boat down and start it and leave.

We went out Friday morning and it was very dangerous. We fished the north side of I30 for a while, then when we headed in, we had to trim up so the bow would ride high, then gently motor into the whitecaps. Once we got far enough out, we were able to quarter the whitecaps and run for Chandlers. I won't be doing that again...

Yes Alan that happened to me at Texoma 2 years ago. 6 foot tall rollers and I was squeezing the seat until I made it back to high port. I was on the the north end of the lake when the wind switched directions on me from south to north. The closer I got to high port ( south end ) the bigger they got. Had to zigzag back and it seemed like it took for ever . I told myself after that day that I would never go out in anything more than 15 to 16 mph MAX. Glad that you made it back safe to Chandlers. It is definitely an eye opener when you the waves are higher than you can see. eeks

Alan I have done that myself as well. Never again, once you have been out and thought to yourself this may be the time you do not make it back, you never forget that feeling.

Glad you got back safe.
