Over the past couple of years I have been doing a fair amount of spider rigging, but I guess I've gotten to that point in my life where I need a little help seeing the ends of the long poles better. I was wondering if any of you could suggest a type of paint that could be used on the last few inches of a pole and not chip or flake off and have to be constantly repainted? Thanks for any help.

Use white out it is water based in most casea you can put a floresent Red model paint over it Floresent nail polish, The reason to use White out as a base if and when you take your rod back because youu broke the tip you can clean it up pretty good for the return trip to Customer Service.

I've painted a couple of my crappie rod tips. I used bright yellow Krylon. I used a small section of a Scotchbrite pad to remove the shine from the rod and then simply tape off the section between the tip and the first eye, then I painted the approximate 4" section. It works great.
I've done two rods this way. In the end after all the work I don't really think it helped much. I thought it would help me see the end of the rods against the water which it did. But I did'nt feel that I catch more fish with the modified rods vs. the non modified ones.
