Hey guys, this is my first post in the Crappie section. I strictly bass fish but I wanted to get some feedback from you guys who fish Fork for crappie often. How would you rate the crappie fishing in comparison to recent years? Has it gone down hill, stayed about the same, or improved?

Downhill a bit with all the sandbass but still pumpin out good sized fish, just not near as many as years past. Last winter was a bummer for me on my usual deep spots but Im no expert. You get a boat this year?

I haven't upgraded on my boat yet, and don't think I will anytime soon. I enjoy using my jonboat, and it worked out well on Fork with all the ramps. I'll be back soon. I was wondering how the crappie were holding up this year with the sandbass, lack of grass, cormorants, and low water.

I fish bass year round but fill my freezer crappie fishing on fork every year . I went thursday and caught 14 keepers in 3 hours. fork is a crappie heaven and if you will fish closer to the bottom you will avoid some sand bass. it is a little early but it is starting to get good ,what I do is drop 2 rods 1 crank off the bottom and get on the trolling motor and move the boat slowly around the colums and i mean creep and you will catch all you want.
