Got to the swim about 6:15. , a few buffalo rolling on the bar so out with the method blaster and 30 balls of the best quality method are dispatched around the general area. I want the fish hunting for the next patch of bait not focused one area.

Bubba - the marshal - arrived just before 7:00 as I was ready to cast all three rods. All bait dropped in the areas I wanted them, now we wait 😊

8:00 am and time to think about rebating. All done at 8:15 and back to waiting. No more fish activity in the swim. So we might be waiting until the afternoon evening before they get their heads down and feed.

10:30 just had the first run of the day - a real screamer. Picked up the rod and felt the dish for less than a second before it dropped off. Spun the gear back and found the hook point turned over. It was fine before casting - I always check - do must have happened on the plateau.

Replaced the hooklength and recast back to the back side of the plateau. Re baited the other two rods - one on the left hand side of the plateau and the other in the deeper water off the right side of the plateau.

That bite came to Crab and Garlic plastic mini boiles.

12:00 Update (actually 1:15 but the 12:00 is relevant). Another screaming run from the back side of the plateau, this one stuck and carried on for another 20 yards before turning around and heading back towards me.

Wound down hard to eventually connect with the fish about 50 yards out. From there the fish held up and we played tug of war at that range for about 10 minutes.

Eventually the fish started coming in and I started figuring it was a big buffalo. Another 10 minutes of dogged fighting and the fish rose up in front of the net. I immediately recognized Split Tail the Buffalo. She looked huge and proved to be so as officially weighed by Scott at 48lb even. That's 7lb up and nearly the other end of the lake from when Kristi had her at 41lb at The Rocks about 12 weeks ago.

Happy as a clam right now.

25 minutes to and I had three moe, two carp of 2lb 12ox and 16lb 2oz. The buff weighed 29lb 4oz

Still have fish on the swim so expect one more before the end.

Brian just had another fish. Don't know the weight yet but he was at 61-62lb so would be to be 34lb plus to catch me.

Final update when it's all done

I'll tell you what between Keith and Brian I stayed busy weighing fish after 3. I weighed 1 for Keith and got a call to run to brian at wwd. By the time I drove from PV and walked down to Brian, Keith called with yet another fish. I was only marshalling today and Keith still put a whoopin on me.
