I have a 21ft hawk dc bass boat w/225 optimax. I need tow it with a 2007 ford edge AWD. the tow rating on the car is 3500lbs. Any guess on what an estimated weight my boat and trailer is? I should go have it weighed to make sure, just checking for an estimate.

Go online and get the factory weights for the hull and engine and add them together. That will get you close. Also your licsense receipt will have trailer weight empty.

x3, I would not tow anything over about 70% of the rated tow capacity with FWD. Actually I would not tow with one period.

my skeeter sl210 is pushing 3500 lbs, so you are probably over. i think the tow rating on most of those 6 cylinder cross-over suv's is the same.

Hard work for a little mule...

I don't like to go over 1/2 the tow rating of anything, it's just undue stress on your equipment.
