With one one of my 12' heavy carp rods, I can easily punch a 4oz lead over 100 yards. i can do that with a 1oz 7'8 ft rod. I will attest, he ain't lyin. well maybe about the spooling part, but it was easy over 100y. over & over, so it wasn't a fluke. the fluke is Wilson knowing how to use a baitcaster.......JK brotha!!!!! oh, and w/ my 10.5' carp, er Striper/surf rod I typically am throwing 120-14oy on every cast with 1.5-3oz. not the same as a bass rod on 1oz.

Never really thought about it...but 100 yards is a long azz way to be able to cast...How far across is Denison Dam? I would think 100 yards would get ya from TX parkinglot to OK parkinglot but I dunno.

I want to see it for myself. Lets take it on the football field. Cast from 1 yard line and see who can throw the distance.
Bring your best gears.

i find it easier to use a spin cast when using light tackle, if im going for distance with a little weight, i prefer a bait cast. If distance is your thing, spin cast reels create a lot of line drag when it is peeled off the spool and slaps the rod repeatedly
