So my daughter got my wife and I up in the middle of the night, throwing up, which actually turned out to be a good thing. Looked down the hallway and saw the little guy in the pics moving down the hallway, near my 9 month sons door and almost to the kids playroom. Sorry if I catch flak for killing it, but I have a 3 yr old and a 9 month old, and dont really want to find them playing with it! Any ideas on what kind it is?

I figured it might have been harmless, but I'm no snake expert, didnt want to take a chance and don't care for them to be around my kids! Its one thing to be outside, but inside by the kids rooms are a big no-no!

You did good. Easier to find out what kind it is through autopsy than it is through recollection.

Garter snake. Totally harmless. Used to have several as pets when I was growing up. Now the boa constrictor that my brother got as a pet is a different story.

Thanks for the input..I didnt really know what it was, it didnt seem that old, and was only about 7 inches long or so. Couldnt tell by its colors if it was poisonous or not since only have its body started getting those stripes. Didnt want to take a chance with the kids
