Been seeing some very good reports from the Dallas area lakes, but not so much from Palestine.

Is no one doing any good on Palestine, or is no one fishing. I know the ramps are almost impassable, but I still see a few boats out.

Should be time for some fall Hybrid action I would think.

I haven't been in 2 weeks but prior to that the whites had been good to very good, but the hybrids were being difficult for me. Hopefully the cooler temps has got them going. Trying tomorrow am if not too windy.

The Hybrids have been tough, its or miss on those guys. Sandbass have been solid. I didn't go today but did fish yesterday morning early and caught 3 Hybrids all about the same size around 20 inches, plus a dozen or so sandbass. I only fished a little over 2 hours.

Caught a bunch of fat sandies and three good hybrids to 24.5" this am in 3 hrs. More importantly marked a huge stump in middle of the lake between the island and smith point that we wouldnt have seen if not for the waves. Probably 6" under water line if lake is calm. Coordinates are N 32.08.103 ; W 095.27.623. This thing will end your trip. Also will be last time I can launch my boat at the dam. Had to get Jeff to hook up to me and help pull the boat out.

Thanks ATM for the info. That's a beautiful fish.

It had to have been tough fishing out there today.

we launched at dam on Saturday. Launching is no problem but getting out will take a 4x4 which we didnt have so we were stuck. the sand on the ramp kept the tires from getting a bite. A few guys who came to look at the ramp saw us spinning and jumped into the bed of the truck and that added enough weight for us to get out. Other wise we would have had to wait for another truck to come pull us out.

Whites were great on wind blown banks....NO HYBRIDS for us. Did see a group(5-10) of BIG BIRDS hanging 10ft above the water waiting to strike. we watched them for 5 min or more and they never hit the water. We checked it out anyway and nothing was there. As soon as we left the birds returned to the same spot and kept looking down like the saw something. Must have seen their reflection in the 30MPH winds.....lol

Fun Day.....Was Perfect for Hybrids to be on the move but we never found them...

Lake Palestine Resort ramp is actually usable. Scary-looking, but usable. The problem is how shallow the area around the ramp is, especially the prop wash, is almost impassable. Probably only usable for a short time longer unless we get some major rain this week.

Thanks ATM97. I loaded you GPS info on my Lowrance and it came up very close to one of my SAFE trails that I used during the summer while nite fishing. See pics below to get an idea of where this stump is located.

Very close to my trail.

A more zoomed out look of the lake.

Thanks again ATM97

That stump is like 2.5 to 3' wide. we were shocked when we saw it.

I'm not seeing any of your special fishing honey holes marked on your map.

Just saying...

Had a good time Shane.

Gonefishin, there were about 4 more big stumps in the general area that we saw on the side scan they just didnt come all the way to the top. Also there is another group of trees that is up now in the mouth of saline bay. If you have been out recently you have seen them but there is a big one there at coordinates N32.08.377 ; W95.27.216 for anyone that wants to mark it.

ATM, appreciate the information.

Also, I now have access to a deeper private ramp in Saline Bay. Where, in general, would be a good place to start looking for sandies and hybrids in the Smith Point/Saline Bay area. I'm new to Lake Palestine and to Hybrid fishing. Have fished it a couple of times for Crappie, but not for Hybrids.

Any information on fishing thru fall and winter would be much appeciated. I'm looking for some new fishing adventures on this lake.

Still praying for rain.
