I'm going to be out at Whitney this weekend, Lofer's Bend. However, I am not real familiar with the lake. Does anyone have any advice how I can my nephew on some fish?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't fished Whitney in a while. This time of year I would start just south of the island (dam side )in about 30 ft of water. You might try the edge of the river channel out from King Creek ,also the edge of the channel out from McGowan Valley (just south of the Bridge). In the past when Whitney had loads of shad all you had to do was find the birds. Please post how it worked our for you.

And best of luck at the boat ramp. I was out there about 6 weeks ago and it was LOW!

Loafers bend ramp is ok. You did't say what you were fishing for. Bass on rocky points & mouths of creek channels/ Striper were off the main channel in about 30' of water or close to shore early. Sand bass- watch the birds. Good luck
