I wanna try this for reds.. My questions are: do I need a heavy duty slider cuz I can't find any at my local academy or cabelas..next how long do I make the leader from the swivel to the hook? Last have any of y'all had better luck with a double drop rig? I'm thinking using 2 rods...1 fish finder 2nd drop rig .... Thx guys

Heavy Duty Sinker Slide,Mcmahon snap,Swivel will work..As far as the Leader! That's a personal preference.. Here's mine-17#Main Line 60# Hi Vis is the Shock Leader 3 wraps on the reel comein out 12' to the Fishfinder Rig

Keep in mind crazyfish! Current gets a hold of your Bait.. The red bead is now stopping the sinker slide, where the main line and Shock are spliced. Now have 20' of line out Finding Fish

Thx guys I got them all set up!! Now just waiting to head out!!! I wanted ta go this weekend but all my buds backed out .. And I really wanted to out there with someone with more experience so my son can have more of a chance.. @ ditka my son is 14yrs old ....At first I didn't have a clue but now I do thx again guys... And if any of y'all live in the surrounding areas and want ta head down there let me know so can plan!!!
Another idea is to rig it like a big drop shot rig for bass, with the weight on the bottom and 1 or 2 hooks tied to the main drop above the weight. Gulp shad or other cut baits of your choice will work. Good luck.
