Anybody got any good suggestions for a baitcast setup for a small lady, need something lowprofile.Need something that won't wear her out.Just lookin at my gear and realized my paws are huge compared to her little hands....no wonder

Revos and the like are good Gunz. They don't wear me out and most don't have the higher price tag.

Shimano curado 50. They are heavily discounted all over the place now.

what is your budget??? shimano Curado 50e with the washer and drag washers replaced. For the rod I would get either a Texas custom rod in pink or a falcon bucco

Chronarch 50Mg.....very light weight, and small profile.

Shimano curado 50 the wife has been happy with it.

My wife uses one of the cores she bought me with a 6'9" mh Cumara. I can tell you she flat out gets bit and catches fish consistently. The more she catches the easier it is to get a kitchen pass!

A 6.9mh Duckett casting rod and a revo MGX....super light weight combo....ur going to pay more but well worth it for the lady. Less fatigue overall.

You didn't mention a price range or which hand the little lady reels with. If she can reel with her left hand (and it is in your budget) here is a great little reel. I used a Patriarch XT last time out fishing, and can highly recommend this reel. Small and light. New it is around $250, but got a mint one for $155. Is an ad for another mint one at a $145 price. May have to buy that one myself. These are right hand only. Luckily I use either hand.

Check out the Falcon Clark Wendlandt Casting Rods in particular. Read original price is around $220. There is a short review of them on another forum comparing them to rods such as the IMX and Cumara. Poster was impressed. I know my Cumara is very sensitive. I'd also look at the Daiwa V.I.P. Smallmouth rods. If she likes yellow, take a look at the Okuma Concept C3 rods.

My daughter likes pink. I had a pink custom rod made for her. Very reasonable price. She fishes Senkos almost exclusively. Send me a message or email if you'd like to know more about this option.

EDIT: Had to take grandsons home. To continue...I love my Fuegos. Currently a poster has 3 for sale in 9-9.5 cosmetic condition at $100 apiece. I'd buy more, but already have 3 and want to try other reels. The Sol and Alphas are also small reels. Both make excellent all around reels, IMO. My Alphas ito is paired with a Zillion 6'6" Med XF. It is one of my all around combos, but my current favorite all around combo is a 7'2" MH Fast Cumara/Fuego although that could change once I try the Patriarch XT on it. Both are light outfits with the Alphas ito/Zillion being the lightest...far as I can tell.

The Fenwick Smallmouth and River series are getting good reviews. Local Delaware River guys are actually using them to catch smallmouths, but obviously they can be used for a lot more.

There have been some good suggestions by others. No doubt there are other options. I know nothing about the Lews reels. Have no experience with any kind of Quantum reel. No idea how large or the weight of a Pro Qualifier, but many, many people feel this is one of the very best reels in its price range. Especially when on sale as it often is.

There are other rods around the $100 range that get good reviews, but I'd rather have the $200 rod on closeout for $100 myself. Just mho.

This is my recommendation, based on my wifes experience's she fishes all the time with me and by herself her favorite combo is a CastAway 7Mag MH... SKF7M paired with a one of the newer Lews Speed Spool SS1H small profile and very affordable. The rod is about $140 and reel about $89 ... Lew's Speed Spool ... . You can get buy even a little cheaper if you'll go to CastAway's Go 2 Rod 7Mag, G27M same blank just different components. This rod will run you about $99. So can get the combo for under $200. The rods are made in USA, and I think the reels are the best buy for the money. We have purchased 5 of them so far. If you think the 7' rod may be a little to long, Look at CastAways Go 2Rod series ... CastAway Go 2 Rod... they have them from 6'6" to 6'10" offerings, maybe a 6'6" worm rod, or the 6'6" casting or the 6'8" Honey rod. It would have better and smoother drag. Also you can find a nice used 50e curado for about 100 and the washers cost around 2 to 4 dollars apiece. A falcon bucco is around 90 dollars and a custom rod will vary in price. My texas custom rod cost me 300 but that was fully loaded with recoil eyes and other things

I was out with my Curado 51E for the first time this afternoon. I was very impressed. Was casting further than with my Alphas ito...and with less fear of overruns. Both reels have 8 lb. mono on them. 51E was on a Falcon Elite Medium, and the Alphas ito on a Zillion Medium Extra Fast. Both rods are 6'6".

Only thing done to the 51E was a cleaning before spooling with line. No idea what may have been done with the ito as it was purchased used.

EDIT: I will say that the Alphas ito sounds like a better reel on the cast (much quieter), and its retrieve is butter smooth.

my wife uses a Denali Rosewood 7' MH with a Lew's Speed Spool. It handles all the fishing she likes to do. It's light and the reel is really low-profile and compact, so it fits in her hand easily. She has really small hands. She loves it.
