I went Johnson City TN. back in 84 on business. I left there wanting to move there. Some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen.

We can drop 'ol Superduck in off that bank over there and nuzzle right up next to the guy.

The fish catching part looks fun but doing it out of a kayak? Not so much!

Awe, catching in a kayak is awesome fun. The fish feel bigger when they pull your boat around in circles.

Lived in NC from 1990-1993. Had a very good textile customer in Johnson City TN! Great town! Fished Smith Mnt Lake in VA a lot! Big fish lake, not numbers. Would luv to take a trip back east!!

This is one of the smaller Hybrids caught recently.



I finished building this kayak this last January and have caught several hundred fish from it this year.

It has:
SOT cockpit
Self priming 5 gallon bait tank (6 gallon bucket) behind the seat
28 quart Cooler slot behind the bait tank
Humminbird PiranhaMax 180 Fish finder
SOT cockpit with a padded, high seat back and a Thermarest seat pad.
Mirage Pedal drive as well as a 240 CM 27 oz paddle.
It is pickup transportable so I don't need a trailer or the fees associated with one.
No boat registration required (HPB) either.
Launches from just about anywhere and draws only 3.5 inches water fully loaded.

I usually troll with 2 rods, and it is not uncommon for me to fill the cooler.


I have had lots of trips this year where I caught 40-50 fish and got off the water before lunch.
I have fished Whitney for Stripers successfully including this 33.5", 13.5#er recently.



You can't beat the fish/dollar ratio of a kayak.

Yes that is young Ben Adrien. He is on the Pro Staff with Smack Tackle and is a heck of a good fisherman. His dad is also on the Smack Tackle pro staff and is famous for his Monster Stripers videos. These guys can flat catch fish. Ben recently fished the salt water down off Florida and caught all kinds of fish. He is a great young man and I'm glad to say I am associated with him. Excellent Keith! That's the closest I've been to fishing in awhile... I loved how those fish turned the Kayak... If I was in that kayak the thing would sink! On call at work this week so again no fishing.... It's been W&W for me lately- work or wind.... That video made my day.
