Thanks guys.

I stopped by everyday last week for 1-2 hours and fished different locations, but mostly on the west side. Early in the week before the colder temps all fish were caught near the weed beds. The day the front came in was the best fishing! Had 6 bass in the first hour and they were hammering the Speed Craw. On Friday, the coldest day, all bass were caught in about 4-5ft of water and they would only hit the Speed Craw by dragging it slowly. Saturday was spinnerbait day because of high winds.

Will try again on Monday.

Monday was more of the same. All 12-16in fish with fat bellies! One bass had 3in shad in its throat.

How do you like to rig your Speed Craw? Weightless? Texas Rigged? something else?

Texas rigged. Most of the time I will use a 1/8 oz weight but if the wind allows I will put on a 1/16oz to force myself to fish it slowly.

I fished WRL for the first time on 10/29 and again on 10/31. I was there for about 2 hrs each trip and caught 1 nice fish (1 3/4 lb) on the first day and 2 of the same on Halloween. I went between 11-1 each day and all fish were caught on a pumpkinseed Yum F2 vibraking tube in about 3-5 feet of water off the weed beds by the boat house and pier by the pump station. I guess that is the South side of the lake.
Has anyone had any luck in the large secluded area on the other side of the pedestrian bridge by the boat house? It looks like it would be ripe with quality LMB under the right conditions. I would be interested in hitting WRL by boat but unfortunately don't own one. Someone should rent pond prowlers out there.

On Thursday, more of the same, lots of 12-14in fish, but every now and then out pops a nice one. You can't
even see my jig!

You have to read a history of white rock lake.At one time it was a playground for the Dallas elite with spas and sailboat races and the like, and originally the lake went all the way to flagpole hill.

I've always enjoyed the fishing there. I will say that, to me, it's sometimes a tricky lake to fish. The bass are plentiful just lots of small one with BIG bellies. During the spring besides while fishing for spawning bass, I've caught some really big catfish. I just hate them because they will tear my spinnerbaits up.

I love the lake and it's got some good scenery too!!!

Floated the boat in friday for a few hours, winds blew hard, but the two of us landed 6 or 7 with several failed hook ups. Best fish was around four pounds caught on a chatterbait just north of the garland road entrance.
