I am still new to this, so I apologize if this is a stupid question.

Does it matter on the thread that you use to wrap with? What I mean is can I use regular thread or does it have to be for tying?

I'm sure everybody has a favorite thread they use for tying jigs...mine is Ultra Thread made by UTC in 140 denier. Tried the regular sewing thread and it tends to bulk up too fast for me. Look for something you can cinch down tight without breaking, yet not build up too quickly.

I use a 210 denier.
