Tundra & Fishing Rods?

It looks like I might be purchasing a Tundra shortly. I plan on putting a bed cover on it. So, now I'm wondering how people haul 7' and 7' 6" fishing rods in their trucks?
How long is the bed on a crewmax?

put them diagonal accross the bed.
Personaly I have always left rods in the boat.. seen more of them broken and beat up taking in and out of the boat than just sitting there and riding there.

I didn't know if they would fit diagonally, so that sounds good. I'm not always pulling my boat, sometimes I'm fishing with someone else, so I was hoping they would fit.

If you have a sliding back glass, you might open it and set the tips ride in the cab. My Tacoma has a 6' bed, so I should be able to handle an 8', 1-piece rod that way. Of course, my 8'catfish rod is a 2-piece, so I'm just guessing.

I had the dealership measure the back bed diagonally and it came out to be 7' 6". But it sounds like they are going to fit in the cab as well. It's all good! My new Tundra should arrive in Dec.

Hey Firetiger I have a 2010 Tundra Crewmax and have several Dobyns 7'6" rods and they will not fit in my truck bed. I have a bed cover also. I was hoping they would fit but they didn't.

Don't buy the Toyota, get a chevy instead Why? as a devout Chevy fan, I'd go ford before I go foreign.

The Tundra is more American-made than the Chevy.

The Tundra is more American-made than the Chevy. or Ford or Chrysler...and it's 100% built in the US. And my rods fit diagnally across the passenger seat into the cab of my crewmax just fine.

My Tundra was built in San Antonio. So, built in the USA and also TX!
I could have put the rods in the bed, but once I installed the bedliner, that went away. So, rods 7' or less will go in the bed and anything over 7' will go in the cab. Plenty of room in that massive cab.
I'm enjoying my new ride.

I have a spray in liner on my 2010 Tundra and I can just fit 7'6" rods diagnally in the back. There is just a slight bend in the rod. I also strap my rods together to give them more support.
