My wife and I will be going to FW for Thanksgiving with our son and family. We are frying a turkey and the sides are covered. But, where would you reccommend for us ordering pies for a Wednesday pickup??
If you swing south of the interstate on the way in, the Koffe Kup in Hico has the best pies I've ever bought. It will be a little out of your way but if you ever travel down Hwy. 6 or 281, you need to stop by.

Dixie house cafe. There is one in Saginaw, one on belknap st. In ft. Worth, one in Euless, and I'm missing one or two. They have the absolute best homemade pies and dessert in fort worth hands down.
The Swiss Pastry Shop at 3936 W. Vickery has great pies (at reasonable prices) and they have been there for over 30 yrs. They also make a Black Forest cake that is out of this world.

I'll try some the next time I'm in Hico.
My FIL says their Coconut Cream Pie is the best he's had. Their Pecan pie is one of the best I personally have ever eaten. The only other place that is similar is the Bluebonnet in Marble Falls.
